ADVICE & INFORMATION

ABOUT INDIVIDUAL SEMI-PERMANENT EYELASH EXTENSIONS

Are eyelash extensions safe?

Yes, they are completely safe when applied by a trained professional. It is important to match the extensions with the length and thickness of your own lashes.  As long as the eyelash extensions are applied correctly, they will not cause any damage and the natural lashes will remain just as healthy and strong as before.

To prevent any complications, all clients are required to complete a sensitivity test 24 hours before the appointment. You must allow 2 weeks after a COVID vaccination before booking your patch test to ensure that vaccine side effects aren't confused with a patch test reaction.

During your patch test consultation we will recommend the type of lashes that will suit you best, and apply a selection of eyelash extensions for you to sample.  We only use quality products that comply with cosmetic safety regulations, and won't weigh down or interfere with the growth of your natural lashes. The adhesive glue does not touch the skin, so potential sensitivity and irritation is avoided. Your eyes are closed throughout the whole procedure making the treatment process safe and relaxing.

Are eyelash extensions suitable for anyone?

Almost everyone is able to enjoy eyelash extensions. We use the most advanced medical grade adhesives, and can offer our clients a variety of high performing glues and quality products from the leading brands. Even people with allergies, hay fever or sensitivities find the glues we use do not affect them. Less than 1% of our clients have had a reaction after treatment.

How long will the eyelash extensions last?

This depends on the growth pattern of each individual’s natural lashes and how well the extensions are cared for.  Your eyelash extensions will fall out as your own lashes shed naturally. Most people lose an average of 2-3 lashes each day, so refills are usually required every 3-4 weeks to maintain a full and luscious look. In general you can expect a full set to last 5-6 weeks and an extra full set 6-8 weeks.

What’s the difference between individual eyelash extensions and other false lashes?

The growing popularity of false eyelashes has meant there are many places offering what appear to be similar treatments at cheaper prices. False cluster lashes are thicker, heavier and a different quality, and have a completely different look and feel to individual eyelash extensions.  The treatment time is quicker because they are not individually applied, but they need to be removed before they cause discomfort and damage to your natural eyelashes. The glues tend to be uncomfortable due to their hardness touching the skin, and will only last 3-7 days.

False eyelash strips are easily self-applied onto your upper eyelid close to the lash line. Although they sometimes fall off while wearing, they seldom cause any damage.  They are an effective temporary accessory for a more dramatic look, but many people with sensitive skin react to the glue provided.

Can make-up, mascara & contact lense be worn?

Yes, eye make-up and contact lense can be worn as normal. Avoid using any oil based products as they weaken the adhesive bonding, causing the extensions to loosen and fall off prematurely.
